White cup with Tomato Slice


6x6 on Gesso Board
I painted this one at the St. Pete Artist Market on Saturday, the first one I painted was tomatoes slices on green, but the wind blew and it ended up in the dirt. I did scrape some of it off, so maybe later today I can salvage it. I just love the Gessoed Board, you can move paint around and see the brush strokes.........I think this surface maybe my favorite.

12" x 12" Oil on Canvas SOLD The challenge today was to paint RED ! How many reds in the paint world are there! Well I think a lot!!!!! I had at least 6 tubes out ........the transparent  of the skin was the hardest to get.....I love the yummy reds against the cools of the table cloth.  I added a little light green, but it didn't show up in the photograph.  This painting is much better than the picture.... you can't see the impressionist colors juxtapose together.   Anyone doing the challenge can't help but get better......what fun!  Thanks Leslie!

Good Start to the New Year

Started my new year off really great.....fell on the ice after watching Ohio State win the Rose Bowl.....broke my leg in two places!!! #@$%^!@### (stone sober, it would make it go down better if I had had a few) We had to delay our trip back to Florida....hope to get down there in the next couple of weeks........

David A. Leffel Demo

All I can say is WOW! David A. Leffel did a demo at Longboat Key Art Center, this was the third day of his workshop.......couldn't afford it, but just couldn't miss seeing the master at work. It was wonderful, he is the best! Also I purchased his book (out of print from 2003) from Gallery M in Sarasota, they had one of his paintings. So I got it signed and he was just a gem......thanked me for coming and purchasing his book. I've had the opportunity to see several pieces in Galleries out west and let me tell you they are just awesome!!! This has made my year!!!
