7" x 7" Oil on Board
I now have a set up for still lifes! I took an old watercolor board that Dick made years ago and put it up in the studio. Now I can have a spot light and see shadows! WOW!
After a great trip North to South Carolina, DC and Boston, we made it back to the Sunshine State! Everyone thinks it hot here, well it's hotter in SC and DC. Plus they don't have that wonderful ocean breeze. We had many adventures, plus a few internet problems.... I forgot how slow slow can be! Our Summer Series is on Week 5 with the Octopus....you can see the video on my youtube channel. We will finish the series next week with the Seahorse. I hope you've enjoyed the projects. I plan on incorporating the new colors; Lemon Yellow or Permanent Yellow, Cadmium Red, Permanent Rose or Quinacridone Red, Cobalt Violet, Manganese Blue or Cerulean Blue. I finally decided after 30 years of the normal palette (Burnt Sienna, Gamboge, Hooker's Green Dark, Ultramarine Blue, Indigo, Alizarin Crimson and White Gouache) it was time for a CHANGE! Happy Painting!
Summer is Here! Starting this week, after many problems with the upload I finally got the Supply List and the Flamingo Video upload to Youtube. This is the beginning of a special Summer Series, step by step, painting projects. They are small, less an hour paintings to keep you paining this summer. The videos can also be seen on my website, under Video Tutorials. If you have any questions please let me know ...... Enjoy!
11x14 Oil on Canvas Board Yesterday I joined the open studio at the Columbus Cultural Art Center. I attended classes there about 20 years ago. A couple of artist that were there then was in the class. What a wonderful surprise. They've moved to the second floor and the natural light is unbelieveable! So I signed up for the afternoon open studio, so now I get to stay all day. I started this from a photograph that I had set up in the studio, then I came home and finished it this morning. Nothing like the real thing for the wonderful colors.
